Geneva, 07Oct 2014: Making a submission on behalf of the Tamil Civil Society at the 112th session of the Human Rights Committee being held at Geneva Attorney at law Kumaravadivel Guruparan insisted that without the right to self-determination Tamil people in Sri Lanka will not be able to enjoy the entire array of rights enshrined in the ICCPR. He raised the issues of illegal appropriation of land and Militarisation as well. Finally Mr. Guruparan urges the committee to holistically appreciate and identify the violations against the Tamil community in their appropriate context.
