CBK is the next common presidential candidate

Bandanaranike Kumaratunge has expressed no objections to becoming the common candidate at the next Presidential election.
She has reportedly expressed these sentiments at the funeral of Prof. A.V. Suraweera in Minuwangoda recently.
Kumaratunge and a large number of ministers were present at the funeral and some senior ministers have asked her about the rumour that she was going to be next common candidate at the Presidential election.
The former President has said that she had received such an invitation from the opposition and that she was not opposed to the proposal.
However, Kumaratunge has said that she would contest at the election if at least 10 SLFP ministers requested her to do so with the assurance that they will join her campaign at that time.
She has also said that the UNP, Sarath Fonseka, the JVP and TNA were not opposed to her contesting as the common candidate at the next Presidential election.

Douglas calls on Tamil parties to join PSC
