I am not aware when students will be released. Higher Education Minister in, ignorance

The four students from the Jaffna university were arrested and detained and they will be released, but it cannot be said when was said by Higher Education Minister S.P.Dissanayake.

 

Jaffna university society yesterday Thursday met Higher Education Minister and during discussion he made this statement.

 

Higher Education Minister urged at this discussion to expedite in commencing the Jaffna university education activities.

 

However university society informed the Higher Education Minister to commence the university education activities,  to release the arrested detained students.

 

 

On response Higher Education Minister said, arrested and detained students will be released, but it cannot be said when.

 

Minister told the university society, students education should not get affected hence educational activities should resume immediately, was the information given by one of the members attended the discussion.  

 

Jaffna university Deputy Dean Prof.Vasanthi Arasaratnam, Deans, council members and University Grant Commission Chairman attended the meeting.
