Deputy Minister of Petroleum Industries, Sarana Gunawardena, on Friday (10) lodged a complaint at Police Headquarters countering a bribery complaint made against him by a businessman. Denying the bribery allegations as baseless, the Deputy Minister claims that the housing complex built by the land development businessman was unauthorized. Gunawardena, who was accompanied by Attanagalla Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman, Vice Chairman and Opposition Leader, said they will also file a defamation case seeking Rs. 1 billion in damages.
