  (Lanka-e-News-02.April.2012, 11.30PM) The MaRa regime which is in utter disarray is seeking desperate remedies for its desperate ills. In order to earn ‘black money’ it is trying to pass legislation hastily in Parliament to create a ‘drug zone’ which will not be governed by any laws. This was revealed by opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe when he participated in the protests staged recently in Kandy.
This ‘drug zone’ which is to be launched by the MaRa regime will not be subject to customs laws, and anything can be brought into that zone , and they will be exempt from any inspection whatsoever. The import and export regulation s will not apply to this proposed zone, and even the country’s disciplinary code laws will not be applicable, Ranil Wickremesinghe pointed out.
The opposition leader questioned whether Mahinda Rajapakse is launching this zone to commemorate the Sri Sambudha Jayanthi ?. This is a most dangerous proposal , and the people must oppose this , he urged. |
