The Thero has explained that GL had distanced the patriotic forces from the former Chandrika Kumaratunge government by introducing a “package” on the advice of the international community and that he had initiated a ceasefire agreement under the Ranil Wickremesinghe government that betrayed all patriots in the country.
He has noted that when President Mahinda Rajapaksa was announced as the Presidential candidate in 2005, GL had worked according to the wishes of the international community and leveled various allegations against then Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa through Helping Hambantota issue.
The Thero has observed that it is now evident that GL had joined the Mahinda Rajapaksa government established in 2005 by patriotic elements as part of a conspiracy of the international community.
According to him, GL’s move to be appointed as the External Affairs Minister by befriending MP Namal Rajapaksa according to the agenda of the international community and that he was now trying to distance the patriotic forces around the President in order to get a puppet of the imperialists appointed to govern the country.
