The latest in the series of Rajapakse regime’s Kovil and mosque destruction -at Trincomalee

(Lanka-e-News-24.April.2012, 11.55PM) The latest in the series of destruction and damaging of temples and mosques by the Rajapakse regime taking place at Trincomalee , according to reports. The Urban Development Authority under Gotabaya Rajapakse had given notice yesterday to immediately remove the Pullayar Kovil (Hindu Temple) situated close to the Tricomalee General Hospital . This is a Kovil where religious activities had been carried on for the last 60 years. The Kovil’s ‘Kumba’ religious festival is scheduled to take place on the 05th of July . But. with the receipt of this written notice of evacuation yesterday , the entire plan and program had been plunged into confusion, reports say.
