A worker at a Tim Hortons located in a Petro-Canada gas station on Hwy. 10 in Brampton has tested positive for COVID-19.

Mayor Patrick Brown warned anyone attending the Time Hortons/Petro-Canada located at 11980 Hwy. 10 from March 9 to 20 to self-isolate and monitor for symptoms for 14 days.

“An employee has a confirmed positive case #COVIDー19 who worked at the @TimHortons/@petrocanada location at 11980 Highway #10 in #Brampton. The period of concern is from March 9 to 20th. I would ask anyone who went here for gas, coffee or supplies to self isolate for 14 days,” tweeted Brown at 9:24 a.m. on Sunday (March 22).

“COVID-19 causes respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. Symptoms have ranged from mild to severe, and commonly include fever, cough and shortness of breath,” reads the website.
As of 10 a.m. on March 21, Peel Region had reported total 36 cases — 16 in Brampton, 17 in Mississauga, two in Caledon and one more with details still pending.

Petro-Canada issued a statement on Twitter on Saturday (March 21) night announcing that the location has been closed temporarily and advising customers of the possible exposure to the virus.

"We have temporarily closed the store (including fuel) to thoroughly clean and sanitize the location. 

We are asking store staff to self-isolate for 14 days, per the provincial health guidelines," read the statement. "We would ask any vendors and customers who may have visited the store between March 9 and March 20 to monitor how they are feeling and contact their health-care provider or 1-866-797-0000."
