12/09/2017First, there are plenty of accomplishments to celebrate in the field of transitional justice, a term, which as on previous occasions, I will use to refer to the implementation of truth, justice, reparation and guarantees of non-recurrence after serious violations of human rights and gross violations of international humanitarian law. The first thing to celebrate is that in a fairly short period of time, a normative framework has developed defining State obligations regarding the four pillars mentioned. Transitional justice has become in a thirty year period, one of the policies that countries are expected to implement in the aftermath of violations. This is in itself an accomplishment.
