20 million dollar commission from oil pipelines

May 03, 2016
Reports reaching us substantiates a powerful government minister has removed a Malaysian company which estimated 100 million dollars to lay an oil pipeline from Colombo ports to the Kollonnawa refinery and submitted a new estimate worth of US dollar 120 million. News reaching us points out a sum of 20 million dollar is supposed to be shared between the minister and the transaction.

Personal information reveal the first estimate for this pipeline laying was USD 80 million and in addition 20 million USD has been added to the amount twice.
However petroleum resource minister Chandima Weerakkody said the Malaysian company has not come forward to undertake this contract and the cabinet would decide who should be given the contract and no ministers has been involved in acquiring any commission.
