‘Through websites, we get to know what happens at our homes’

‘Through websites, we get to know what happens at our homes’

Apr 23, 2016
It was our website that reported a few days earlier that ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa would be leaving for Bangkok, Thailand today (23). Seeing it in our website, Mahinda’s youngest son Rohitha was asked by a friend, “Thaththi is going to Bangkok on the 23rd? Aren’t you going with him?”

Perplexed by the question, Rohitha asked him back, “Is our Thaththi going to Bangkok on the 23rd? How did you get to know it?” then, the friend told Rohitha that he saw it in our website.
“Oh…Webs are carrying complete lies. Don’t believe them. How do webs know what happens at our homes which we don’t know? When they are short of news, they plant various lies.”
After all other media reported that Mahinda had left for Bangkok today, that friend called Rohitha again and asked, “What those websites said wasn’t a lie? Thaththi has gone to Bangkok with G.L. uncle.” Rohitha replied, “Hereafter, we will get to know what happens at our homes through the websites.”
Anyway, accuracy of our news was confirmed on the same day we published it, when the ex-president’s personal assistant Uditha Lokubandara had gone to the Commercial Bank’s Reid Avenue branch in Colombo 07 and withdrew 2,500 US dollars, saying the money was to go to Bangkok.
