Trump – Sinned or Sinned Against?
The essence of the theme of Donald Trump is that the American interests should be protected at any cost both within America as well as outside in the world arena. ( March 21, 2016, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) World community generally thinks that whoever would be next American President, it would not make much difference for the world scenario, as any American President would only act in the interest of America irrespective of the ethical or moral issues involved. This would be so, inspite of the tall claims of the American government about its commitment to the free world and world peace. In such circumstances, until recently, the world has been viewing the American Presidential race only with distant interest.
However, the present race for Presidential nomination campaign by Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton has become one of acrimonious debate and slanging match, which has made the world look up and watch the developing scenario with curiosity.
While Donald Trump has made a big impact in the Presidential nomination race by his unorthodox speeches and sharp remarks, the opposition democratic party as well as several independent observers appear to have been alarmed at the type
of gain that Trump is registering and the prospects of Trump becoming the US President.
As a result, the campaign against Trump has not only become vociferous but also vituperative and Trump is described as “ maverick billionaire” “demagogue” etc. It is even implied by his critics that Trump Presidency just seems like the logical last stop for America before hitting bottom.
The discerning observers cannot but think as to whether Donald Trump has sinned so much to deserve such sharp and provocative description or is he really sinned against. In any case, it looks like that Trump is having the last laugh, at least insofar in clinching the Republican nomination.
Such possibilities have even made some of the media in the USA such as Fox News openly launching a bitter attack on Donald Trump, accusing him of harbouring “sick obsession” and of indulging in crude verbal abuse against the woman TV anchor. Of course, Trump has also retaliated with equal venom. Several other organisations and section of media have come in support of the TV anchor and are hitting back against Trump with even more stringent criticism.
In such above exchanges between the candidates, one can clearly see that there is not much of substance that can really go against Donald Trump in evaluating him as Republican Presidential candidate.

While the statement of Trump that he would bring wealth back to America again because America has a deficit that one would not believe may be somewhat far-fetched, several people may agree with him that there is need to look deep into the health of American economy, particularly in the light of the experience some time back due to the massive default in repayment of housing loan to the banks and similar other issues.
It is high time that the opponents of Donald Trump think of better ways to check his popularity than meeting his onslaughts with abusive phrases and hateful messages. This could become counter-productive and such strategy may only strengthen the campaign of Donald Trump. It is necessary to answer the propaganda of Donald Trump with hard facts and figures and take the campaign to more lofty heights. The ball is clearly in the court of the opponents of Donald Trump who have to respond with care and intelligence.
Otherwise, the general public in America would conclude that Donald Trump is sinned against rather than sinning and Donald Trump would be the beneficiary.
