When’s the next coup? Thailand’s zero civilian control over the military

“I WANT this to be the last coup. However, the power of the army would not be reduced. This is because the army has always taken care of this country,” Thailand’s latest coup maker General Prayut Chan-ocha told Channel News Asia earlier this year. His happy, democratic dream, however, seems unlikely, as Thailand’s coup-laden history suggests.
