Mr. Narendra Modi Now Victim of Hate Politics

Under the circumstances, one cannot but think that there may be an organised agenda to make it difficult for Mr. Modi to govern and fulfil his promises.

( November 3, 2015, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) Every unprejudiced Indian is now shocked at the vituperative, ferocious and ruthless criticisms aimed at Mr. Narendra Modi by those who call themselves as “writers, eminent citizens, scientists or industrialists”. What is particularly disturbing is that such persons do not see anything good in Mr. Modi or his government and give an impression that they are pledged haters of Mr. Modi.
What is even more shocking is that most of the English TV media and English newspapers appear to be extending sort of support to these pledged critics and have been prominently publishing their hate speeches and also publishing cartoons that are highly critical of Mr.Modi. One cannot but see a pattern in this.
One can have difference of opinion with the policies of Mr. Narendra Modi but it would be highly unjustified to question his motives and commitments or painting him as a person supporting narrow chauvinism in the country, inspite of the fact that Mr. Modi has been repeatedly calling for peace and harmony and pledging himself to the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi at every opportunity.
Obviously, persons like Mr. Raghuram Rajan who is the Governor of Reserve Bank of India and a few scientists and writers who have been honoured by the governments in the past are misusing their positions to launch a tirade against Mr. Modi. They have been silent in the past when many violent incidents have taken place in various parts of the country involving different religious groups or linguistic extremists etc. Now ,suddenly they find that Mr. Modi is the be all and end all of all problems in India, most of which have been existing for several years now.
While media gives huge publicity to adversaries of Mr.Modi, many sane voices calling for balanced views are being ignored.
Under the circumstances, one cannot but think that there may be an organised agenda to make it difficult for Mr. Modi to govern and fulfil his promises.
When Reserve Bank Governor Raghuram Rajan or Infosys founder Narayanamurthy or award winning scientists and writers express political views, they need to be merely viewed as politicians as far as such observations are concerned , inspite of the fact they may have particular expertise in their chosen profession.
A scientist may be considered as authentic when he speaks on science and an economist can be considered as authentic when he speaks on economics and a writer can be considered as authentic when he speaks on art , literature and human behaviour but when they speak on politics ,they need to be viewed as politicians as far as their political views are concerned. In such case, they deserve to be respected and listened only to the extent of doing so with regard to politicians.
It is high time that the common man of India make a distinction between such so called eminent people carrying such hate campaign under the cover of the profession that they belong to and those who hold saner and unprejudiced views.
