Daughter locked father in kennel -Father’s room given to dogs

A 42-year-old woman was arrested yesterday for allegedly locking her 72-year-old father in a kennel, in Balagolla.
Police said the woman was arrested after an officer attached to a police patrolling unit had noticed a man being held inside the cage. The father was living in a cramped room – similar to a cage made of bricks and metal bars, where the family dogs were once held, police added.
The initial investigation into the matter had revealed that the daughter had incarcerated her father as he was continuously urinating in the house due to old age. The daughter had allegedly removed the dogs from the kennel and had put her father in it. Father's room had been given to the dogs. The victim has been admitted to the Menikhinna Base Hospital. The daughter was later produced before the Kandy Magistrate.
Bolgolla Police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
