Ranil sends Chatura to control Mahinda!

UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe has told the nomination board to give nominations to Chatura Senaratne, son of Rajitha Senaratne, to contest from Kurunegala district, after his recent challenge to Mahinda Rajapaksa that he would ‘contest from Beliatte and defeat Rajapaksa.’

Chatura has been able to obtain nominations from the new front, as the JHU has allied with the UNP at the last moment. He has asked the UNP leader to give him nominations from Colombo district.

However, recalling his challenge to Mahinda, Ranil has asked Chatura to show by deed what he has said. Intervening, Rajitha has told Ranil, “Mr. prime minister, do not take what these small ones say too seriously.”
