Malwathu Maha Nayaka Thero most venerable Thibbotuwawe Sri Sumangala himi said that the people who voted in favour of Maithripala Sirisena are anxiously waiting to see how president Maithripala is compiling the nominations for the coming General Election.
He said the president should not hinder the mandate he got on January 8th.

If the people lose faith on him the people will not be happy during his tenure. There is no value of a person who remains without trust. This is applicable to the people and to any declaimer. Therefore at a moment when the people of the country are waiting it is most significant to preserve the trust of the people. If the Rajapaksa family rule once again lifts its head in another form and continue lawlessness, murder, corruption and fraud the country would fall into another unimaginable abysmal.
