The Tamil National Alliance, the largest Tamil political party in the country is expected to play a crucial role in the new Parliament over the next five years. Political observers have already predicted that the party will obtain nearly 15 seats from the North as the party has hardly any competition in the province. The TNA's share in Parliament will play a pivotal role on deciding the ruling party of the country if mainstream parties fail to secure a simple majority in the legislature.
