Nurses protest in front of Puttalam hospital

Nurses employed at the Puttalam Base Hospital are staging a protest in front of the hospital today (17). They claim that their due transfers have been denied.
Some of the 149-strong nursing staff has been employed at the Puttalam Base Hospital for over 20 years, said Chairman of the All Island Nurses' Association Amila Rathnayake. Rathnayake went on to say that most of the staff has worked at the hospital for over five years. He said that the authorities have not responded to their requests.
