Former ports authority chairman alleged for bribing the media!

It is reported that former Ports Authority Chairman Priyan Bandu Wicrama is alleged paying bribes to the media reporters who were critical of his corruption.
It is reported that he has paid these bribes not from his personal money but from a secret account he maintained from the Ports authority Secretary office. An investigation conducted under the instruction of
the current minister Arjuna Ranathunga it was revealed more than 200 people has been paid bribes.

He has made these payments through Sri Lanka Port Management and Consultancy Services (pvt) Ltd which is an affiliated institution functioning under the Sri Lanka Ports Authority. It was revealed that
there are journalists and reporters of Mawbima and The Island Newspaper who received such illegal wages.

A sum of Rs. 50,000 has been paid from August 2011 to December 2014 to each journalist's. The list of names of these corrupt journalists will be exposed to the media by the Ports Authority soon.
