Gota’s terrorist paramilitary monks and intelligence division hold Diplomats of 7 foreign missions under ‘house arrest’- police blaming on Gota’s directives mollycoddle saboteurs
(Lanka-e-News- 05.Aug.2014, 9.30PM) Gota’s paramilitary monks and intelligence division terrorists have together stormed into a meeting held at the Centre for Society and Religion (CSR), at Deans Road, Maradana yesterday evening participated by Diplomats of foreign missions to listen to and share (‘listening and sharing’) the sorrows and sufferings of the members of families of the north and East who went missing , and sabotaged its proceedings .
This workshop was organized by the parents’ organization of Britto Fernando of missing persons , several NGOs and a group of lawyers. Representatives of 7 Diplomatic missions in Colombo including acting Ambassador of the US, Diplomatic officers of the European union, the United Kingdom , Switzerland, and France diplomatic mission took part in this workshop.
The ‘parents organization’ of those who disappeared is an organization that was formed in 1991 by parents of those who went missing during the 1988-89 insurgency period. Britto Fernando ,who was the President of the organization when it was formed is still its President .At its inception ,the present President Mahinda Rajapakse was a frontline member of the organization. Vasudeva Nanyakkara was also a powerful member. Since the day it was founded its meetings were held at the CSR situated at Maradana.
Yesterday , when this conference was held at the peace center conference hall , the Sangha terrorist monks and intelligence division terrorists forcefully stormed into the venue and created pandemonium by falsely claiming that the ‘Tigers’ have come to Colombo and are betraying the country to the Geneva investigation. When the organizers were sending the participants out peacefully , these ‘terrorists’ had surrounded the center , whereby the foreign Diplomats and officers were trapped within the building.
When a complaint was made to Maradana police that a lawfully held meeting is being sabotaged , the police who appeared on the scene , first and foremost said, these groups are neighbors. Later when inquiries were made , there weren’t any neighbors , and among those who were present , about 40 were wearing helmets, meaning that they had been brought there from the outside. Robed terrorists numbering about 10 were also present.
A most strange and reprehensible role was played by the police in this violent scenario : instead of dispersing the marauders and saboteurs , the police told both parties to come to the police in batches comprising five each . At that juncture ,JC Weliamuna, Manjula Pathiraja, Lakshan Dias, Namal Rajapakse (not President’s son), and a group of lawyers protested that there is no law in the country to give such directions , and firstly to remove the unlawful saboteurs, as they (Lawyers) have the necessity to thereafter come to the police and lodge a complaint.
With news reports spreading , a large team of lawyers appeared on the scene , as a result the police were apparently rendered clueless. The police officers who always either pretend not to know the true situation or are a truly ignorant group (the cause of many a misery and crime in this country), have not been aware that foreign Diplomats were present at the venue. The police had told the lawyers in an apologetic tone , there is nothing they can do about it or provide security because they are acting on defense secretary Gotabaya’s directives. At last both parties had visited the police station , but by that time the saboteurs had lodged a complaint.
The lawyers had then told the police they have no necessity to file answers to the complaint , and rather the police must be there to enforce the law duly. They have therefore stated that they will be making a complaint in writing tomorrow, and left the station.
It is the consensus , because of the stupidity , ignorance and arrogance of Gotabaya who deployed his paramilitary terrorist monks and the intelligence division to hold Diplomats and officers of 7 foreign missions including the acting Ambassador of the US under ‘house arrest,’ instead of enforcing the law duly against the saboteurs and mobsters , do not augur well for the country , and dire issues may have to be faced by the country because of the Rajapakses’ gung ho policies.
