High level Chinese military delegation in SL

The third most powerful military figure in China, General Xu Qiliang is currently on a three day visit to Sri Lanka along with a 25 member military delegation from China.

During his visit, he is scheduled to discuss and strengthen bilateral/military relationship between the two countries.
General Xu’s visit to Sri Lanka is on an invitation extended by Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

According to top military sources, the areas intended to be covered were professional training, joint exercises and further promotion of military assistance to Sri Lanka on request.

The delegation is scheduled to meet with President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the heads of the armed forces and police.

Fire destroys a factory in Piliyandala

A fire has erupted in a plastic factory in Dolekanatta area in Piliyandala few minutes ago, the Police Media Unit told Ceylon Today Online.
Fire brigade is attempting to douse the fire at the moment with the support of the residents of the area.

Fire erupted in the factory has destroyed five houses of the area according to the reports.

The damage caused due to the fire has not been estimated yet.
Piliyandala Police are conducting further investigations. (Ceylon Today Online)
