MARIA Miller has resigned as Culture Secretary, telling David Cameron the row over her expenses had "become a distraction from the vital work this Government is doing".
She apologised again for her handling of the inquiry last night [PA]
David Cameron announced that Sajid Javid has been promoted from his ministerial role at the Treasury to become the new Culture, Media and Sport Secretary.
