Feb 06, Colombo: Ally of Sri Lanka's governing party, the National Freedom Front (NFF) says the party is pleased with the government's move to refuse a visa for a US representative to visit Sri Lanka.
However, issuing a statement the External Affairs Ministry clarified that the US official was not denied the visa but on the contrary the Embassy was informed that the proposed dates of her visit were not convenient.
NFF Spokesperson Mohammed Muzammil told a news conference today that there were several NGOs working against the country.
Pointing out to a recent report by the Public Interest Advocacy Centre which has stated that the Sri Lankan military were responsible for the vast majority of the alleged war crimes that occurred during the final months of the war, Muzammil added that such elements were putting pressure on the international community.

According to the NFF member, war crimes were not committed in the country.
