The JVP earlier filed a complaint with the Commission against Balapatabendi calling for an investigation into allegations of corruption.
Herath has explained that Balapatabendi should be temporarily suspended from his post as the head of the Bribery Commission in order to conduct an independent inquiry into the allegations.
Herath has explained that Balapatabendi should be temporarily suspended from his post as the head of the Bribery Commission in order to conduct an independent inquiry into the allegations.
However, he has said that action has not been taken to suspend the Bribery Chief or initiate any other action even weeks after filing the complaint.
According to Herath, the government’s inaction with regard to the complaint against the Bribery Chief indicates the level of corruption in the country.
