(October 8, 2013, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) We only have to look back at history and learn from the many lessons since Sri Lanka achieved its independence from the British in 1948. Successive Sinhalese administrations (UNP/SLFP) in government have failed to address the political needs of the Tamil speaking people of the North, East and up country. It is for those very reasons Tamil political representatives pressed for devolution in Sri Lanka.
