General Secretary of the Communist Party (CP), and Minister D.E.W. Gunasekera, has said that good governance in the Northern Provincial Council (NPC) could be expected under the leadership of TNA’s chief ministerial candidate, C.V. Wigneswaran.
Commenting on the Northern Provincial polls, Gunasekera said, in the present political culture, right thinking intellectuals have been sidelined and people who wield power through their wealth have dominated the centre stage in politics. This situation must change, he declared.
“The TNA’s chief ministerial candidate for the Northern Provincial Council appears to be stable. Good governance could be expected in the NPC under the leadership of C.V. Wigneswaran. If the TNA comes to power at the Northern Provincial elections, it should create an administration which would be a role model to other Provincial Councils in the country,” he said.
