Brother of late Minister found dead

MONDAY, 12 AUGUST 2013 
A brother of the late Minister D.M.Dasanayake (51) was found dead in the home garden in the early hours of this morning. He was a resident of Andahena estate in Andigama, and father of two children.The relatives who found the body in the rear garden had informed police.
During preliminary investigations police recovered a cellular phone, and a pair of slippers lying near the body.
A senior police officer said the cause of the death was yet to be established. Pallama police are conducting further investigations. (Jude Samantha)

The body of a youth who drowned in the Kelani River was found this afternoon (August 12) at the 5thmilepost on the Old Avissawella road, police stated.
The victim was swimming in the river with three others and was visiting relatives during the time of the incident. The victim was a resident of Narahenpita.
