Menon to carry Manmohan’s message
Exactly a year ago, on 28 June 2012, India's National Security Advisor, Shiv Shankar Menon, arrived in Colombo to take up several critical issues with Sri Lanka's Head of State. At the time, Sri Lanka's reputation had taken a nosedive, following strong allegations of human rights violations, particularly during the final stages of the war. By the time Menon arrived, Sri Lanka was in the international doghouse and not so strangely, India was found solidly backing the countries that were vociferously demanding accountability from the island nation.
