'Journalists who you will claim to have disappeared are living France. I too met several of them. a famous journalist whom you will always talk about is residing in France. He is living there in disguise. He had assistance from embassies and left the country with their help. However, cases are being heard in courts here in Sri Lanka, stating that these people in fact have disappeared. There are instances in which wives of these individuals appear before the media and cry. However, their husbands are in contact with their wives. This is simply because they are living in France. As reported in the media, Government parliamentarian Arundhika Fernando told parliament on 5 June that missing journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda is currently residing in France.

On 6 June, the media met Keheliya Rambukwella, the incumbent Media and Information Minister in Sri Lanka.
