Sri Lanka government has notified Geneva five months back, concerning the legal action taken for the 36 Tamils disappeared in north.
However this issue was not made aware to the relatives located in Sri Lanka so far, and the information which was maintained as secret has now got exposed.

Relatives for many years are in desperate finding their relatives to know about their whereabouts.
The panel operating to find the disappeared persons in Sri Lanka, complained to the United Nation Human Rights Council branch handling disappeared persons located in Geneva in year 2008 October 17th.
Concerning to the complaint, the Geneva panel requested clarification from Sri Lanka government in year 2009 April 14th. The reply was given by Colombo in year 2012 October 29th.
The notified 37 persons disappeared are facing court action was the reply given by the government, but this was not notified to the relatives located in Sri lanka so far was said by Suntharam Mahendran Secretary of the committee handling the disappeared persons.
He said, they participated the concluded United Nation Human Rights Council sessions and were made aware about the reply given by the Sri Lanka government.
The Secretary of the investigation panel handling forcible or arbitrary disappearance of persons located in Geneva was met and discussed at Wilson Palace.
Sri Lanka government's response was made aware to the committee at that time. It is essential to find out; the information given by Sri Lanka government is genuine. Hence we have taken action to confirm this by contacting the relatives of the 37 persons notified by the Sri Lanka government to verify whether their relatives are facing legal action, said Mahendran.
