As ailing MaRa
returns the first massive protest by Lawyers begins to cure his ailing moth
eaten impeachment – UNP joins unconditionally
(Lanka-e-News-
28.Nov.2012,11.55PM) No sooner had MaRa suffering from hypertension and returned to the Island following surgical removal of parts of his organ glands at Baltimore Hospital , America, than Lawyers of the courts in the north had decided to stage a strike as a cure for the diseased impeachment motion of MaRa .This strike by the Lawyers is to be gradually spread to the entire country. Meanwhile the main opposition party , UNP had also decided to extend unconditional support to the Lawyers’ struggle , as revealed by its Secretary , Tissa Attanayake to Lanka e news.
Attanayake also added that the UNP had from the very outset been stating they support the decisions taken by the SL Bar Association and the Judges Association , and since the Bar Association has declared its stance following the petition filed by it in the Supreme court (SC) on the 26th against the impeachment motion , the UNP is extending its unstinted support towards it.
When Lanka e news inquired whether the UNP will support the massive protest campaign to be staged on the 4th of December by the Lawyers’ group of the Bar Association and other Lawyers jointly , Attanayake replied , UNP will most certainly extend its fullest support to the campaign . Besides , even the other parties of the common opposition led by the UNP will absolutely support the move , he emphasized. In what way the UNP and other parties will be extending support will be known after the UNP ‘s discussions today (28) with the Bar Association, and will be revealed ,he observed.
Until the deplorable and unlawful assault launched on the independent judiciary by the Rajapakse regime is stamped out , the UNP will be aligned with and support the Lawyers and judges , Attanayake noted.
Meanwhile the highly secret discussion convened by Basil Rajapakse to formulate plans to counter the massive protests that are to be staged on the 4th of Dec. had suddenly halted in its tracks. The reason for this is: Basil had harbored suspicions that individuals who cannot be trusted ( too many and are growing against the lop sided impeachment motion) have also been included for the discussion .
An individual who attended the discussion speaking to Lanka e news said, Basil is unnerved and jittery over the massive support and which is ever growing on behalf of the chief justice against MaRa’s JaRa (foul and evil) intentioned impeachment motion which is by now ailing like MaRa and moth eaten.
