Former IGP’s wife sets up clothes shop at the Sri Lankan mission in Brazil

Former IGP and Sri Lanka’s ambassador to Brazil, Mahinda Balasuriya’s wife, Asha Balasuriya has set up a clothes shop at the Sri Lankan mission in Brazil, diplomatic sources said.

Asha Balasuriya had maintained close links with well known racketeers when her husband was the IGP and she at the time was known among members of the police force as “senior IGP.”

The sources who gave us the information said that Asha Balasuriya had got down clothes manufactured in Sri Lanka using her diplomatic privileges without paying any taxes and was carrying out her garment business quite lucratively by abusing embassy resources. It is learnt that she has asked all embassy staff to purchase their clothing requirements from her.

A senior External Affairs Ministry official said that many complaints have been received about head of Sri Lankan missions who abuse embassy property for their private businesses. The official added that inquiries are currently being carried out in to the complaints and that necessary steps would be taken afterwards.

Anura Senanayake gets a gift from Mervyn

Public Relations Minister Mervyn Silva has gifted a two and a half acre land on the Thelangapatha Road between Peliyagoda and Wattala to Senior DIG in-charge of Colombo Division, Anura Senanayake, it is learnt.

The two and a half acre land is said to be a land that had been filled on a marsh and the DIG is reportedly planning on setting up a container yard on the land. Minister Mervyn Silva has given this gift to the DIG as a token of appreciation for his help in suppressing any opposition to the Minister in the Kelaniya electorate.

The arrest of Kelaniya Pradeshiya Sabha member Hasitha Madawela on false allegations was one such step.

It is also learnt that the Public Relations Minister had given a 40 perch land near the Kiribathgoda Town to the Superintendent of Police in-charge of the Kelaniya area, Mathurata.

Mathurata had been a close friend of Minister Silva since he was a sub inspector (SI) in the police and he was got down to Peliyagoda by Silva by making a special request from the IGP.

DIG in raging usury business: over Rs. 20 million lent to underworld criminals

But today we will just confine ourselves to a single atom of it :

One of the main occupations of this DIG is lending money on interest . This slave of a DIG who receives large sums of illicit kickbacks while being engaged in suppressing underworld criminals , is re deploying them in usury. By lending money to the underworld criminals he is further multiplying his income.

One of his subordinates whom he uses in the service of his usury business is senior SP McCarthy Perera . Because this usury obsessed DIG is using the police vehicles for developing his usury business , he is operating a racket in regard to the official fuel supply to police vehicles . After filling the tanks of police trucks he is transferring the fuel to his tractors from Kandy . One of the trucks that was used for this purpose had disappeared without a trace. The number of that truck is 61-7080 . This DIG ‘makady’ Anura Senanayake who is fully aware of all these rackets is giving full protection to McCarthy Perera his abettor , and carrying on his usury business.

The amount of money given on interest to Colombo underworld criminals and businessmen exceeds Rs. 20 million. It is specially noteworthy that about Rs. Five million had been invested in this usury business through McCarthy Perera by ‘Makady’ Senanayake .
Based on the latest reports , Makady Senanayake is moving heaven and earth to get his brother in law (wife’s brother) Liyanage who is the OIC of Seeduwa police station transferred to Colombo with a view to expand his usury and other illicit businesses in Colombo..

It is a pity that even when it is abundantly clear that the two brothers in law (rather police outlaws ) are getting ready to create an ‘official’ Mafia operation in Colombo abusing their official positions to the detriment of the country and the people , the poor IGP is crippled and silenced because these outlaws are enjoying the patronage of the most demonic godfather , Gotabaya .
