Transferred LTTE Suspect Died In Hospital

A LTTE suspect, who was transferred from the Vavuniya prison to the Mahara prison following the turmoil at the Vavuniya prison, has died today.
The 29 year old inmate, named Ruban, had been charged for his alleged involvement with the LTTE.
He was receiving medical treatments at the Prison hospital for a fractured arm but later he was transferred to the Colombo North Teaching Hospital following a breathing difficulty.
In the aftermath of the turmoil at the Vavuniya prison, 28 inmates were transferred to the Mahara Prison by the Department of Prisons. Out of the 28 inmates who were transferred, ten are presently receiving treatments at the Prison hospital while four inmates have been admitted to the Colombo North Teaching hospital.
