Army and Tamil youths watching Fonseka’s movements
Sri Lanka Army personnel and unknown Tamil youths are keeping a close watch on former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka’s movements, sources from the Police Department said.

The matter has come to light with the inspection carried out on an unidentified Land Rover vehicle near Fonskea’s residence on the 27th.
The black Land Rover vehicle with a red garage number plate bearing number AA-0412-E had been driven by Corporal S.V. Jayanetti from the Army Infantry Regiment and accompanied by Sergeant R.W.C. Kumarage from the Infantry Regiment.
When the vehicle was checked, these two army personnel had been accompanied in the vehicle by three Tamil youths without any identification papers.
Disturbed by the police check, the persons in the vehicle have immediately contacted the Army Headquarters through the communication unit in the vehicle and the police personnel have been ordered by the Police Headquarters to immediately release the persons.
