But how he was taken to the Katunayake Hospital from the Jayawadenapura Hospital is a big mystery as it was so confidentially arranged. It was possible for us however to come to one conclusion after watching this ‘melodrama’ as one that was not second to a Hollywood movie mystery plot.Preliminary arrangements ..

Last Monday evening , the chief of the Rajapakse regime and a restricted number of Ministers forced by the chief went to the Hospital to inquire after kudu Duminda’s health and recovery . There , the regime chief categorically told Duminda’s family relatives that he is ready to dispatch Duminda (the cold blooded murderer ) to any place in the world to save Duminda , and he is prepared to lend any assistance in that regard.
In the meanwhile , last Monday evening , kudu Duminda’s brother had made arrangements to get down a team of medical specialists from Singapore in addition to the arrival of two neuro surgeons who are American nationals from Singapore a week ago. Hospital ‘drama’ and histrionics

The two hired American medical specialists who had flown to Sri Lanka on Tuesday by a special jet and a medical specialist team comprising five others headed for the Sri Jayawardena Hospital in the afternoon at about 4.00. All these preliminary arrangements were to take kudu Duminda the killer to Singapore .
While these activities were on , two Ambulances , 8 defender vehicles, 4 Dolphin Vans, were in the ready to take kudu Duminda cum killer out from Hospital. By 8.00 p m. this fleet of vehicles was divided into two groups , each comprising one Ambulance , 4 Defender vehicles and 2 Dolphin Vans each.

According to Hospital sources , at about 8.15 p.m. . an Air Force helicopter alighted on the Hospital helicopter pad. Then at about 8.45 p .m. , the Ambulances that were parked near the Hospital along with other vehicles and Govt. security division vehicles left in a row at tremendous speed headed for two main Hospitals in the Capital city.. About ten minutes after these vehicles had left , the Helicopter that was there took off towards Katunayake , and changed direction subsequently , and headed for Ratmalana Airport .
Although such a massive ‘drama’ and special stage show was performed for the sake of kudu Duminda ,much more than that is organized for a President or any other special dignitary, it is only some Doctors of the Jayawardenapura Hospital , the relatives of kudu Duminda and the younger brother of the regime chief knew that Duminda was not in any of those vehicles or in the helicopter.

At about 9.10 in the night , at the rear side of the Hospital , a special Ambulance , a Defender vehicle , a Prado vehicle and two Dolphin Vans were kept parked . Duminda’s dispatch to Singapore began from the Hospital in this fleet of vehicles with Duminda in the Ambulance. The special medical team too went in that fleet . There was no official police security detail in vehicles accompanying them. This fleet then headed for the Katunayake Airport.

The fleet conveying Duminda Silva entered the Airport through the route followed for cargo , and directly sped to the vicinity of the Hanger itself. Except the Operations Manager and some high ranking officials at the Airport , none else knew that Duminda is being taken by flight .
After Duminda was transferred to the special plane which had arrived from Singapore . The special medical team and two of the relatives of Duminda boarded the same plane that was to take off to Singapore.at 11.20 p m.
The crew of this jet plane which took them did not reveal any details of its flight schedule to those in SL. When it was inquired from the crew of this plane as to the purpose of their arrival here , they have only given a terse answer , that they were here to take a VIP to Singapore.
This episode woven in a mysterious tangle of deceptions and diabolic manipulations by the State itself to protect and save an individual who is facing grave and serious charges incriminating him directly in the murders only epitomizes the absolute lawlessness in the country. Even before the inquiries into the heinous murder crimes is concluded where this so called “VIP” had been clearly proved via witnesses as directly involved , this prime suspect being taken abroad for medical treatment , let alone allowed, is itself a serious crime committed by those who are behind this orchestration. Moreover , in instances as this , a Judge ‘s certificate that is imperative to permit a suspect to be taken out had not been obtained ; and a determination by the judge whether his health condition is really true meriting such a foreign trip had not been sought. Moreover , if a suspect is to be taken abroad for treatment on sympathy grounds , he can only be allowed on bail . That procedure too was not followed. To issue a post mortem report even the judge was not allowed to go to the Hospital to evaluate the suspect’s health condition.
In the circumstances, isn’t it a great pride if a citizen of this country can say he is still living overcoming these monumental dangers and odds where lawlessness and jungle laws are raging with beasts ruling the roost ? Isn’t such a survival a miracle ?
Chelva’s statue destroyed by racist brutes – head broken and thrown down

The statue of a former Tamil leader , S J V Chelvanayagam at Trincomalee Town had been damaged , and the head of the statue was found on the ground yesterday morning.
The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) former M P Thurai Ratnasingham speaking to Lanka e news said, this statue which was not damaged even during the war , has been subject to this treatment by racist groups who are aiming at provoking communal hatred . He therefore urged that a new statue is erected in place.
Saravanapavan M P stated that this is an action of the racialists who are in resentment against the protests staged by some TNA MPs when the President toured America recently.
During the period , when Prime Minister S W R D Bandaranaike brought a bill ‘ Sinhala only’ as the language in SL , Chelvanayagam had warned , ‘ Banda, if we do not get together and resolve this issue , it might become impossible to control the youths’. He referred to his party youth division leader S T Amirthalingam as ‘young youths’ at that time. Following Chelvanayagam’s death , in the seventies, since the Govt. of the South at that time was not offering a solution , Amirthalingam got a ratification of the main Tamil youths group at the Vadukkodai convention for the need of an Eelam Govt. as the Govt. of the South is unyielding. Later on , the Tamil groups which took to arms in the campaign for the Eelam Govt. killed Amirthalingam in 1989 stemming from a vindictive hatred. By - Ukussa
