A twenty year old girl who was exposed to rigorous physical training at the Diyathalawa army camp as part of the leadership and positive attitude development programme introduced by the Higher Education Ministry has died of pneumonia last month.
An autopsy conducted on the body of Tennakoon Mudiyanselage Nishanthi Madushani of Warakarawa, Tennakoonwala, Keppettipola found that Madushani was an asthmatic patient and died of pneumonia as a result of her being exposed to the cold morning air while undergoing physical training sessions at the Diyathalawa military camp.
