Ven. Dhammakeethi Thera of Avukana Rajamaha Vihara : 'Nilanga Dela offered Rs. 500,000.00 to become Diyawadana Nilame' (Video)

(Lanka-e-News -09.Sep.2015, 9.00PM) Nilanga Dela in order to become the custodian of the Dalada tooth relic has offered Rs. 500,000.00 as bribe to Avukana Rajamaha Vihara prelate Ven. Shastravelliye Dhammakeethi Thera, which was rejected by the latter .Ven. Dhammakeethi Thera revealed this  to Lanka e news.

Nilanga Dela has spent Rs. 100 million as bribes to secure the 210 votes to become the Diyawadana Nilame .The above exposure is a further confirmation that Nilanga Dela has bribed his way to the post of Diyawadana Nilame.

It is a well known fact that giving such bribes is a very grave offense under the laws in Sri Lanka (SL). In the circumstances the commissioner of Buddhism must immediately suspend  this appointment , and launch an investigation with a view to holding elections for the post again sans corruption. 

The minister of Buddha Sasana acting in the true spirit of Buddhism  shall give this order to the Commissioner of Buddhism .Based on the evidence of Ven. Dhammakeethi Thera , the Bribery commissioner shall punish the culprits.
