The order was issued by the magistrate that the procession on the 14 th of August within the Fort magistrate division should not be conducted in a manner that would hinder or provoke the crowd that are coming to see the shipping dock that had been inaugurated a few days ago should be abided by those named above.

Your Honor’s ( Magistrate’s ) order had been handed over to the above named individuals. Yet these individuals have conducted the procession in a manner that hindered the people and provoked them , as well as harassed the foreigners who have arrived in Colombo , thereby violating the Magistrate’s order.

In the circumstances we request the court to summon these individuals and call for explanations , and take court action against them .
Signed

OIC Fort police station
Chief Inspector Chamal Prishantha Ratnayake.

After this B report had been prepared, the SSP Anura Senanayake had visited the AG’s department by now.

UNP general secretary Tissa Attanayake answering queries raised by LeN said , ‘we were only telling with the people yesterday that law should be enforced against the murderers in the Weliveriya killings. Instead of complying with that most reasonable and peaceful request , if they are trying to take legal action against us , nothing can be more ridiculous. In any event we have an unassailable democratic right to act against this murderous government . None can destroy that right.’
