Farmers agitate demanding Rs.50,000

An agitation was held at Medirigiriya yesterday (11th) demanding Rs.50,000 for each acre of cultivated paddy land destroyed due to drought during the ‘Maha’ season and also due to neglect of government officials.
The agitation was organized by the All Ceylon Farmers’ Federation and its National Organizer Namal Karunaratna, General Secretary T.B. Sarath and many farmers participated.
