Deliver justice for victims of Welikada Prison massacre – Civic Rights Activists

Civic rights activists demand government to take immediate action to arrest culprits for Welikada Prison Massacre and deliver justice to victims.

“Yahapalana government failed to deliver justice to victims of Welikada massacre,” said Chameera Perera co-convener of Left Centre at a press conference held in front of Welikada prison today

“STF and Army not allow entering the prison with weapons. But they entered and killed 27 prisoners according the witnesses.”

He added, “Who was behind this attack? Who gave the permission to security forces to enter to the prison and attack prisoners? “

Addressing the media Gamini Viyangoda said that if the government has involved in a crime they never take any action against culprits.

“We urge Yahapalana government to take immediate action to deliver justice to victims.”

According to activists Welikada massacre was happened in November 09. 2012 and 43 prisoners  were injured.
