Gagan ambassador to Afghanistan..!
(Lanka-e-News -23.Dec.2016, 11.30PM) President Maithripala Sirisena has nominated retired Air force Commander Gagan Bulathsinghala supposedly residing at 97, Wijerama mawatha , Udahaamulla , Nugegoda as the Sri Lanka ‘s ambassador to Afghanistan . As of late , since these appointments have to be presented to the Parliament select committee pertaining to high profile posts ,it has therefore been submitted for its approval.
Under the 19 th amendment, even now appointments to foreign diplomatic missions are made by the president. However those appointments must be approved by the parliament select committee as regards high profile appointments. Since the consensual government does not desire to enter into conflicts with the president , the latter’s appointment is passed without a debate.
Nevertheless ,when president Maithripala was fielding as the common presidential candidate , he swore over ten times that these shall not be political appointments . (Clause 95 of the president’s manifesto ‘ a new country within 100 days,’ said :a respectable foreign service without politicization will be re established). This was because during the Mahinda Rajapakse lawless, rudderless and ruthless era , unqualified and unsuitable morons , henchmen, cronies, relatives , lickspittles, lackeys , nincompoops and nitwits were appointed to the State Diplomatic service , whereby Sri Lanka became a laughing stock before the world.
It is very rare in foreign countries , bright intellectuals and those with special skills who are not having foreign diplomatic exposure are appointed to the diplomatic service.
Prior to Mahinda Rajapakse, such appointments did take place. The appointment of Professor Sarathchandra as ambassador to Japan , enabled us to watch plays such as the Maname and Sinhabahu which were mixed with Kabooki traditions of Japan. But commanders of the forces who were on pension were not appointed to the diplomatic missions to make them enjoy their retirement and make that service a home for the aged. It was during the Mahinda Rajapkse era with the appointment of pensioned commanders of the forces and IGPs who were ignoramuses regarding foreign diplomatic affairs to foreign diplomatic missions as ambassadors and High Commissioners that SL’s diplomatic service , the rot set in and the foreign service became a favorite haunt of heroin peddlers.
(It was after the appointment of retired IGP Mahinda Balasuriya a close associate of heroin dealers during the Rajapakse era as the ambassador to Brazil , cocaine along with sugar in tons are still continuing to arrive in SL from Brazil) . At that time , such appointments were made by the Rajapakses who were mentally warped based on war mania.
Mr. Sirisena was appointed on 8 th January 2015, as president with the hope of bringing about ‘change’ in order to uplift the foreign diplomatic service and make it stand respectably and honorably on its feet , which service was previously made a loony bin infested with retired senile commanders of the forces by the Rajapakses .
Sadly , however , Maithripala Sirisena who is now seemingly suffering from a mental disequilibrium is entertaining the notion ‘becoming the SLFP leader is preferable to the post of president , ’ as a result he is gradually acquiring the Rajapakse’s vacuous mentality .This became very evident following his recent aberrant and most abhorrent ‘cyanide speech’
On a subsequent occasion he went further to declare , ‘ I am on the side of the war heroes.’ Only what he did not do was hitting his chest with his tightened fists while making that utterance. It has become most clear now , the president is on the ‘side of the heroes’ even if they are crooks and murderers , and is himself acting on their behalf to secure bail for them by fastening the label of ‘war hero ‘ to these rascals and scoundrels.
Another recent action of Maithripala mimicking the mentality of ‘vacuous Rajapakse’ is , the nomination of retired Gagan Bulathsinghala to the post of ambassador to Afghanistan .
Of course if Gagan was one who maintained a good repute and an antecedence it is understandable. But Gagan obviously was not such a commander . Prior to his appointment as Air Force Commander , he was a most notorious corrupt individual of the Rajapakse era .Despite LeN exposing his corruption with evidence , instead of sending him to jail which he richly deserved , he was made the Air Force which he did not deserve .
Thereafter ,abusing his official position he took advantage of his characteristic traits - he swindled public funds on a monumental scale while also going on countless junkets abroad with his family wasting public funds. As exposed by LeN, in just 9 months he travelled abroad as many as 8 times! The most ridiculous and ludicrous part of this colossal wasteful exercise was his going abroad with his family to purchase helicopter spares from countries where helicopters are not even produced !
Interestingly it was Gagan Bulathsinghala who created a record as the Air Force commander who held that position for the least period, yet committed most corruption during that short period. Believe it or not , his corruption courses through his veins so viciously that he did not return the official residence to the state even after retirement .Ironically ,it is such a scoundrel who has been nominated as the ambassador to Afghanistan by our good governance president Maithripala Sirisena.
At this juncture may we recall an interesting tale to refresh the memory of the people.
Interestingly it was Gagan Bulathsinghala who created a record as the Air Force commander who held that position for the least period, yet committed most corruption during that short period. Believe it or not , his corruption courses through his veins so viciously that he did not return the official residence to the state even after retirement .Ironically ,it is such a scoundrel who has been nominated as the ambassador to Afghanistan by our good governance president Maithripala Sirisena.

The president was enraged over her conduct when the Latin American singer was performing on stage in Sri Lanka. She removed her bra strap and passionately kissed him in public on stage . Her sexual frustration was the cause of president’s provocation …needless to mention every male , young and old who witnessed that was provoked naturally.
There are about 100,000 members of the foreign forces in Afghanistan , which include countries like America, Britain , Australia, Italy , Germany , Turkey , Georgia and Rumania. In order to delight these forces ,singers of various countries visit Afghanistan , and perform concerts. The staff of the diplomatic missions in those countries are invited for those musical shows.
Oh Lord…please see that the brassiere strap of the daughter of the next ambassador to Afghanistan remains tight ! May the ‘Ray fish tail’ of president Sirisena too petrifies without putrefying at Polonnaruwa . This is the ardent wish of all Sri Lankans .
