A directress of Gower’s Corporation, Nithya Senani Sasmaranayake, was arrested by the FCID, produced before Colombo additional magistrate Lanka Jayaratne and remanded until August 22.
During the previous regime, she had been released from her official duties as an air hostess of SriLankan Airlines to work for MP Namal Rajapaksa.
During that period, she had also worked as a directress of Gower’s Corporation, owned by Namal Rajapaksa.
She is a suspect in the same case under which Namal Rajapaksa stands accused of causing a loss of Rs. 45 million to the state.
Another directress of the same company, Sujani Bogollagama, too, was due to be produced before courts today.
