The cocaine swallowed by the Venezuelan woman values 18 million
Reports reaching us confirm the cocaine contained in the abdomen of the Venizuelan woman who was supposedly taken into custody for smuggling cocaine valued Rs. 18 million. Customs media spokesperson Leslie Gamini said the customs able to retrieve 87 cocaine tablets contained in her abdomen.
This woman has come to Sri Lanka from Brazil via Dubai through Emirates air line and snatched by the airport customs. The suspect was produced to the Negombo magistrate and sent to the Negombo hospital and able to retrieve the cocaine tablets. A total of 1200g tablets were retrieved.
Customs media spokesperson said following the preliminary investigations the suspect would be handed over to the police anti narcotics bureau.
