Only Baba obtains distress loan for 10 years

slbc
The distress loan, which had not been paid to any SLBC employee for the past 10 years, had been paid to its then additional director general (now acting DG) Erananda Hettiarachchi alias Baba.

Last November, the then chairman Hudson Samarasinghe approved a Rs.500,000 disaster loan for Baba, although it was him who had suspended this payment.
Baba’s ability to get the chairman to approve the suspended distress loan itself is an indication of his close connections with top people in the previous regime, say SLBC employees.
They question as to what extent good governance is being practised when Baba, who expects personal gains from the new government too, is allowd to remain further in a top position at a state institution.

Former Army Commander and Democratic Party Leader Sarath Fonseka, answering a question during an interview in the ITN last evening on his worst enemies said that MR was governing the country using ways and means that would have been followed by a terrorist.
“I would say Prabhakaran is the worst enemy – he was a ruthless terrorist that targeted and killed thousands of innocent civilians. He was a dangerous enemy but it was in the battlefield. . . But after his death, I realised that there was another individual who was destroying the country and meant to harm the people. . .” he said in his response, referring to MR.
He said that MR was going to do more damage to the country than Prabhakaran and that is why de made a decision to enter politics and challenge MR.
“This enemy of mine tried to kill me in various ways – in fact the whole of Rajapaksa family was out to get me. . . MR was acting like a terrorist, actually worse than a terrorist,” he told the interviewer.
