Sri Lanka: Marxist JVP Call For The LTTE Leader KP’s Arrest

Guardian) Sri Lankan Marxist political party the JVP parliamentarian Vijitha Herath handed in a writ petition to the court of appeals today calling on the court to arrest Kumaran Dharmalingam alias Kumaran Pathmanathan (KP), who took over the leadership of the LTTE following the demise of Velupillei Prabakaran.
The petition called on officials to try him for crimes committed by the suspect and bring him to book.
The IGP, Defense Secretary, Immigration-Emigration controller, Army Commander, Commander in charge of security in Kilinochchi, Director of the TID, the Attorney General and Kumaran Pathmanathan have been named as respondents in the case.
