Only 130 out of 1,500 presidential secretariat vehicles accounted for!

vehicalsDuring the Mahinda Rajapaksa regime, the presidential secretariat had a fleet of around 1,500 vehicles, including Pajero, Prado and Defender jeeps, as well as Benz, Audi and Toyota luxury vehicles.
A driver, by the name Keerthi, had been in charge of this vehicle fleet, with the ex-president appointing him as director general of transport. This man is now missing, along with the inventory.
So far, only 130 of these vehicles have been accounted for, say presidential secretariat sources. The CID is combing the country for the missing vehicles, as there are reports of henchmen of the previous administration hiding the vehicles and taking them apart. Officials of the presidential secretariat have requested the public through the media to furnish information to them or to the nearest police station regarding the missing vehicles.

Mahinda’s ivories surface at Jayantha’s yard!

container 1Peliyagoda police have seized two container-loads of ivories and artifact owned by former president Mahinda Rajapaksa. According to police sources, the two containers had been seized at the container yard owned by Nawaloka group chairman Jayantha Dharmadasa.
Yard workers have told police the two containers had been brought there at midnight on January 09. The raid was conducted on information received by Peliyagoda police. Custodians of the yard have told police the two containers
