President’s popularity down from 54% to 47%!

An opinion survey conducted by a state department in view of the upcoming presidential election has shown that the popularity of president Mahinda Rajapaksa has declined rapidly from 54% to 47%, reports say.
The government is concerned that this 7% drop has taken place within a space of 10 days. Officials who conducted the survey say it is questionable as to why the president’s popularity suffered despite the fact that the opposition was yet to announce its common candidate. If his popularity goes down further after the common opposition candidate is placed before the public, the presidential election will be a very risky one for president Rajapaksa, they warn.
