Mahinda’s genies gobble BOC

COPE report has revealed that frauds and corruption to the tune of Rs. 574,150 million has been carried out in Bank of Ceylon, the main commercial bank of the government.

The report released on 23rd July indicates frauds and corruption have been committed under 11 sections. The COPE report for this year released on 5th August has not included any observations regarding Bank of Ceylon.

Bank of Ceylon is an institution under the Ministry of Finance. President Mahinda Rajapaksa keeps the Ministry of Finance under him. The responsibility of frauds and corruption that occur in the main commercial bank under his ministry falls on the President as the Minister of Finance is the view expressed by the top management of Bank of Ceylon.

BBS Is Deployed To Mislead Minority Voters

The Bodu Bala Sena is to announce its support for the common candidate Maitripala Sirisena on Thursday, Colombo Telegraph reliably leant.

“This well planned move is to mislead minorities and planned from Temple Tress” a source close to the campaign manager of the UPFA, Basil Rakapaksa, told Colombo Telegraph.

When asked the BBS CEO, Dilanthe Withange said; “We have not decided yet, We are meeting tomorrow night to take a decision. BBS will have a press conference on Thursday to announce its stance”

However according to a source close to Galagoda Atte Gnanasara, the BBS has already decided to support Sirisena.
