Ministers and foreign Ministry officials in human smuggling racket detected by European country –govt. letters may be disregarded in future
(Lanka-e-News- 06.July.2014, 4.30PM) Consequent upon the detection of a fake letter issued by acting Director general Jawhar who took up that position recently in the foreign Ministry’s foreign diplomatic affairs division, to a henchman of a notorious Minister at latter’s request , it is likely that official letters of Sri Lanka’s (SL) foreign Ministry in the future will be treated with utter contempt and rejected by foreign diplomatic missions. This bogus letter had been issued to help the Minister’s henchman to get visa from a foreign diplomatic mission to go to a leading foreign country.
It is learnt that when the foreign mission had investigated this fake letter further ,it was discovered that this henchman had similarly traveled abroad to another country too , and was deported back .
It is Majintha Jayasinghe the racketeer who secured an additional secretary post through the ‘backdoor’ had assisted Jawhar in this fraud. Jawhar too had reached this official position despite being unqualified is because he worked with Shenuka Seneviratne in Geneva and struck up a close friendship .
While he was serving in Geneva he had been getting passports for the refugee Tamils after collecting illicit payments , and the CID had even conducted an investigation into this .But that investigation was suppressed under the influence of Shenuka. He has been appointed as the acting secretary for purposes of achieving the sordid and unscrupulous objectives.
When the President , Prime Minister , Ministers and Parliamentary members travel abroad for official or private purposes , the foreign Ministry should issue a letter in regard to their official duties to obtain visas. This letter is issued by the foreign diplomatic affairs division of the foreign affairs Ministry.
During these tours , henchmen are taken along with them .On some occasions all the tour expense are met by drug traffickers and illicit ethanol dealers. After they are safely taken across , they are left behind in European countries. This has become a common practice among many SL Ministers.
Currently, it is common knowledge that one of the main sources of income of the Ministers is this human smuggling since this has proved most lucrative. The Ministers collect colossal sums of money from these traders. This is no secret now.
Though the foreign Ministry must do a thorough scrutiny in regard to those accompanying the VIPs , these officers of the foreign Ministry have instead after lining their pockets themselves with a fraction of the payments made to the ministers have connived at the irregularities and wrongdoings, by issuing letters to receive visas.
Previously, Kapila Jayaweera who served in the foreign diplomatic affairs division was caught red handed for helping the cronies and henchmen of Ministers to secure visas on the sly. Yet no action was taken against him. Foreign countries are now fully aware for sure with evidence , that ministers of SL and corrupt foreign ministry officials are hand in glove, and engaged in large scale human smuggling operations and pocketing large sums of money in millions.
A foreign diplomatic mission officer told Lanka e news , following this latest disgraceful development, the prospects are , foreign diplomatic missions, in the future may not accept letters officially issued by our foreign ministry.
It cannot be forgotten some time ago a fake passport was issued by the SL government itself to Karuna Amman to travel to Britain . But when that attempt was thwarted after that discovery , the British visa issuing division that was in SL shifted to India.
Those officials in foreign countries have also received evidence that Namal Rajapakse is involved in human smuggling via boats to Australia.
